Silver Lake Love is opening its closet to qualifying organizations and individuals seeking clothing to make a change for the better.
Life on the streets is difficult and there are many obstacles that stand in the way between individuals and employment. Some of these obstacles include an address with which to apply, transportation, reliable childcare, and phone communication. To these individuals, even solving one of these issues is a daunting feat, so it is easy to see why something that we take for granted and as critical to employment as clothing, is something that goes unaddressed in certain communities.
As a result, many find themselves in situations where they are in need of suitable attire to wear for interviews or for daily living. Several issues we’ve identified is that these individuals do not have the financial capacity, or the knowledge of how to pick out and acquire the suitable attire in order to make the best possible “first impression” and to show the best of who they are. This is where Silver Lake Love joins the table.
