Silver Lake Love Executive Director Chi Ip, headed to the Salvation Army’s Silver Lake branch to celebrate the birthday of a young child who is homeless on Saturday, November 22.
One of the main catalysts of homelessness are the environments that young kids grow up in. Without the proper love, attention, and support of parents when children are young, kids may grow up to be much more at risk of becoming homeless.
Chi Ip also took a tour of the facilities with Salvation Army board member Calvin Chan. The facilities, which house up to 16 homeless families and full amenities, operates out of Silver Lake Love with a budget of over $1mm, providing full support and tools for families to get out of homelessness into a sustainable future.
